RECORD IN LENNOX HEAD

Sometimes a project needs more than a few sessions fitted around ordinary life.

Fraser-Rose Recordings offers artists the chance to step away, settle into the work, and make a record in Lennox Head—on the coast of northern NSW, fifteen minutes south of Byron Bay.

This is a place where the sessions can become the focus, without the usual pressure to finish quickly, get through traffic, or rush back to everything waiting outside the studio.

You can explore the studio, the recording approach, and the instruments and equipment available on the Music Studio page →

GIVE THE RECORD SOME SPACE

Leave ordinary life outside for a while.

There is something valuable about leaving your normal surroundings to make music.

The distractions fall away. The people involved spend real time together. Ideas have room to develop, and decisions can be made for the record rather than the clock.

That does not mean every project needs weeks away. A focused few days can create momentum that is difficult to find when sessions are scattered across evenings and weekends.

The aim is not to manufacture a “recording retreat.” It is simply to create the conditions in which everyone can concentrate on making the record.

TIME OUTSIDE THE STUDIO

Space between sessions matters too.

Recording can be intense. It helps to be somewhere that gives you space between sessions.

The beach, headland, lake, cafés, restaurants, and village are all close by. A walk, a swim, a meal together, or simply some time away from the speakers can reset the ears and change the way everyone hears the work.

Lennox Head has enough happening to make the time enjoyable, but it still allows a project to feel removed from the noise and pace of a city. Byron Bay is only fifteen minutes away when you want more, while Lennox itself remains somewhere you can slow down and stay focused.

A CREATIVE PART OF THE WORLD

Creative energy runs through the region.

The wider Northern Rivers has long attracted musicians, artists, filmmakers, and other creative people. There is a thriving live music scene, a strong creative community, and no shortage of interesting people making things.

That energy is part of what makes the area such a natural place to come and make a record.

CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE PRACTICAL

Easy to reach. Far enough away.

Lennox Head is around two hours from Brisbane, approximately one hour from the Gold Coast, and fifteen minutes south of Byron Bay.

Ballina Byron Gateway Airport is about fifteen minutes from the studio, making Lennox Head practical for artists travelling from Sydney or further afield.

There is a broad range of accommodation in Lennox Head, Byron Bay, and the surrounding area, allowing artists to plan anything from a focused weekend to a longer block of recording.

Fraser-Rose does not package accommodation or prescribe how the trip should work. The studio provides the place to make the record; the time around it can be shaped to suit the project.

COME HERE WITH A RECORD TO MAKE

You do not need to arrive with every decision made.

You might bring finished songs ready to record, a collection of demos that needs shaping, or the beginnings of something that has not quite revealed itself yet.

What matters is giving the project the time and attention it deserves.

Come to Lennox Head. Settle in. Make the record you want to make.
