I work with dialogue, music, sound effects, and location audio to shape the soundtrack, address technical problems, and produce a finished mix. Depending on the project, that may involve detailed editing, dialogue isolation and restoration, assembling material recorded at different times or locations, and preparing final audio for video, broadcast, or online delivery.
The work changes from project to project, but the purpose remains the same: to make the soundtrack feel coherent, intentional, easy to listen to, and, most importantly, engaging.
PODCASTS AND SPOKEN WORD
From recorded conversation to finished program.
Long before podcasting became the familiar term, I was recording, editing, and mixing spoken-word programs.
I edit and mix interviews, conversations, narration, educational material, and other dialogue-led programs. I can work with recordings supplied by the client, record the project at the Fraser-Rose studio in Lennox Head, or come to you and record on location.
This might involve a single program, an ongoing series, or simply making an existing recording ready to publish.
SOUND FOR PICTURE
A finished soundtrack that supports the picture.
Audio post for video can begin with location recordings, voice-over, music, archive material, or a combination of sources.
I edit and balance those elements against the picture, repair or isolate dialogue where possible, and build a finished soundtrack that supports the content without drawing attention away from it.
I have delivered this work for broadcasters, government agencies, independent filmmakers, and commercial clients across educational, corporate, documentary, and broadcast productions.
